energy & climate: toward sustainable systems
A one-week course for advanced undergraduates in Greater Boston
June 11-16, 2006
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts
The Alliance for Global Sustainability and MIT's Laboratory for Energy and the Environment are sponsoring a week-long course on energy and climate for juniors and seniors at universities local to Boston and Cambridge. Students from all disciplines are encouraged to apply. The course will include lectures and panel sessions with MIT and other experts as well as hands-on project experience. Course content will address scientific, technological, and social dimensions of energy and climate in both global and local terms. In addition to gaining understanding about the complexity of the energy and climate issues and exposure to current research in the field, participants will become part of a local network of students involved with improving energy management on their campuses.
