Our interdisciplinary unit called Off the Grid

by Rebecca Kendrick » Fri May 20, 2011 3:50 am

Hi,

I am writing to get some ideas. I teach 6th grade math and am the team leader for the 6th grade. I teach at a small rural NH school. Our 6th grade is approximately 100 students. I teach in an economically challenged area.

We are trying to create an end of the year culminating unit. Our hope is that we will discuss (the month prior) and then visit alternative energy plants (5 days). Our goal is that the students will take the information that they have learned, synthesis it and create a meaning full presentation based on what they have learned.

Any thoughts or ideas would be very welcomed as this is all new to us.

Thanks,

Becci
