Cape Cod area JSS will be an educational destination

Peregrine Carlson, who is planning the Junior Solar Sprint for the Cape Cod area, tells me that this year's competition will be more than the Sprint. He is taking advantage of the attendance to foster more thinking about renewable energy. There will be booths and educational exhibits for all ages. I...

Bromfield HS Field Trip to Pinetree Power etc.

I was lucky to be a chaperone on a field trip planned by physics teacher Gary Menin at Bromfield HS in Harvard, MA. The trip took several hours, and it was worth every minute. We split into three buses and visited three sites separately. Our bus started at Littleton Electric Light District, a munici...

It describes uses for sheets of nanomaterials controlling light and making electricity at the same time.

RE: dying fuel cell

There are others who can better help with analyzing symptoms of dying fuel cells. Anyone? Now, about the meter. You were certainly using it incorrectly. You may only test voltage, not current, if you connect the meter directly to the terminals on the cell. To test current, you insert the meter betwe...

Rearranging EnergyTeachers.org web site

I was thinking about how there are multiple places on the web site for a single piece of information. Let me use an example to explain: An organization may be offering minigrants for solar education. That could be found in many topics of the Links page, including "Energy Education Programs - Re...

How to use the Lesson Plans Forum

Lets exchange ideas about lesson plans, units, and such. I'm especially interested in your review of what's published out there. You can start at http://www.masstech.org/cleanenergy/curriculum/ and see if there are any units there that interest you. Perhaps you already have some experience with one?...
