Please don't take the limericks too seriously. If you'd like to edit or contribute, reply.

There once was a wind near Nantucket
Whose power some wanted to bucket.
The site was proposed,
Objections arose,
But right in the Sound they stuck it.
The turbines erected
Showed those who objected
There wasn't a reason to buck it.
Then platforms corroded,
Transformers exploded,
Investors decided to pluck it.
OR
There once was a wind near Nantucket
Whose power some wanted to bucket.
"The turbines too large,
An eyesore," some charge,
So democracy managed to chuck it.
When smoke filled our breezes
With acid and wheezes,
The barons just told us to suck it.
Coal burning proceeded,
The glaciers receded,
To high land we had to truck it.
