NEED Energy Efficiency and Conservation

NSTAR and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project have partnered to provide teachers in the NSTAR service area with a series of energy workshops focusing on general energy and electricity, solar energy, wind energy, and energy efficiency. The program provides educators with energy curriculum, hands-on classroom materials and teacher training.
NSTAR is pleased to announce this upcoming energy workshop.
This workshop is a unique opportunities for teachers of grades 6 to 8 to learn about energy in a unique and exciting way!
Participation in this workshop provides educators with curriculum and kits that teach about energy and align to Massachusetts standards. Participants will receive certificates verifying number of hours of professional development.
What do you receive at the workshop? Participation provides educators with:
Hands-on kits and materials for the classroom.
A set of basic NEED curriculum materials to get you started.
Thanks to NSTAR support, there is no cost to attend the workshop and the following items are provided:
Breakfast and Lunch.
Parking.
Substitute Reimbursement.
The NEED Project includes teacher-tested educational materials, evaluation techniques and tools, recognition of student achievement, and professional development for educators. NEED materials and training programs provide comprehensive, objective information about the scientific concepts of energy and the sources of energy – their use and their impact on the environment, the economy and society.
