Model Solar Car–Junior Solar Sprint

TransOptions is facilitating a free hands-on JSS workshop on Monday, March 7, at the TransOptions office located in Cedar Knolls, NJ. This workshop is designed to prepare teachers and non-formal educators in leading middle school kids through Junior Solar Sprint, a highly engaging and successful program where kids design, build and compete with model solar electric cars. Your young engineers will deepen their understanding about solar energy, math, physical science and craftsmanship. Teams can enter their cars in Division Races to advance to an Inter-County Final Race and ultimately winning teams go on to compete in the Northeast Championship, hosted by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association in Massachusetts.
Please note that TransOptions' races are limited to schools in Morris, Sussex, Warren counties and suburban Essex, Passaic and Union Counties. At this time TransOptions is unable to accept schools to participate in the races outside of their service area.

Light refreshments will be provided at the workshop.

Registration is required. To register for the workshop, send an e-mail with your name and contact information to Cynthia Reuther, Director of Special Projects, TransOptions at CReuther@TransOptions.org
