Northeast BioEnergy and BioProducts

Teachers interested in implementing sustainable bio-based science, math and engineering concepts and activities into their classrooms should attend this weeklong workshop focused on classroom ready materials. Teachers will develop a solid understanding of the Northeast biomass to Biofuels and Bioproducts pipeline and will have access to lab kits and interactive white board activities to bring this learning to students. The program provides school year follow-up support to teachers using the kits and activities in their school.
Boyce Thompson Institute and partners across the Northeast offer summer programs consisting of hands-on laboratory investigations designed for the classroom, lectures, seminars and resources on current topics in plant biology and science education. Participating teachers begin ongoing collaborations with scientists, graduate students, science educators and other teachers to develop standards-based curricula that helps students understand essential life science concepts using plants as model and relevant organisms.
