WA KidWind Challenge Workshop 1

With a support from Puget Sound Energy, KidWind is partnering with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation to hold 2 Wind Energy STEM teacher workshops in Kittitas County, WA followed by a KidWind Challenge Student Competition.

Please contact Joe Rand at KidWind (joe(at)kidwind.org) if you are an educator interested in the Challenge but unable to attend either workshop. We may be able to set up a separate, informal info session at a later date.

The workshops will cover the basics of wind energy science and technology, while also introducing educators to hands-on activities and innovative curricula to bring wind energy STEM concepts into their classrooms.

We will also be introducing the KidWind Challenge at this workshop, and giving teachers the resources and knowledge they need to form a student team to participate in the KidWind Challenge. The Challenge will be coming to Ellensburg, WA in May, 2012. Come learn how to participate in this exciting student-driven wind energy competition! Your students could win great cash prizes, while having fun and exploring renewable energy science!

All attending teachers will receive a free turbine kit from KidWind as well as free curricular materials from KidWind.
