llinois Energy Workshop

The National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project and ComEd are excited to announce the upcoming Illinois Energy Workshop being held December 13, 2012 at the Lincoln Park Zoo Matthew Laflin Memorial Building. Classroom teachers (K-12) will have a unique opportunity to learn about energy and energy efficiency in a fun and exciting way! Directions will be sent with registration confirmation.

Thanks to the sponsorship of the ComEd, there is no cost to attend the workshop. Breakfast and lunch are included! Substitute reimbursement forms will be provided at the workshop and substitute costs will be reimbursed to school districts.

The NEED Project’s mission is to promote an energy conscious and educated society. NEED is the nation’s leading provider of energy education programs and materials to schools. The NEED Project includes teacher-tested educational materials, evaluation techniques and tools, recognition of student achievement, and professional development for educators. The program will make teaching energy exciting and fun. All NEED learning activities are correlated to Illinois science objectives.

Participation in this workshop provides educators with a FREE NEED Science of Energy Kit designed to teach the concepts of force, motion, light, sound, heat, electricity, magnetism and energy transformations through hands-on activities.

Substitute reimbursement forms will be available at the workshop and substitute costs will be reimbursed to school districts. If your district has a question, contact NEED at 1-800-875-5029.
