New Mexico Solar Energy Workshop - Santa Fe, NM

We are pleased to announce the upcoming solar energy workshop to be held in Santa Fe. This workshop is a unique opportunity for classroom teachers from grades 4-12 to learn about ENERGY for their classrooms– forms of energy, energy resources and solar energy.

PNM and NEED have partnered to provide teachers in the Las Vegas, Santa Fe, and Cochiti Pueblo school districts with training opportunities to expand their energy activities in the classroom and in afterschool clubs. The workshop energy and solar curriculum content is aligned to the Common Core, New Mexico state standards and the Next Generation Science Standards. NEED materials engage and excite students to learn more about energy and to apply that knowledge in science, technology, engineering and math. Schools should consider sending teams of educators to a workshop.

Participation in this workshop provides educators with more than $500 of curriculum and hands-on kits that teach about energy resources and solar energy through hands-on activities. Lessons include energy transformation, radiant energy, thermal energy, kinetic energy, chemical energy, and electricity.

Thanks to PNM, there is no cost to attend the workshop. Breakfast, lunch, and substitute reimbursement will be provided. Lodging and mileage reimbursement will be provided for participants from more than 150 miles away. See registration for more details.

Substitute reimbursement forms will be available at the workshop and substitute costs will be reimbursed to school districts. If your district has a question, contact NEED at 1-800-875-5029
