The Windstorm Challenge is an annual competition each spring in Maine since 2009, sponsored by the DeepCWind Consortium, a group of institutions researching far-offshore wind power. Secondary-school age students build model-sized floating platforms for wind turbines and compete in a wave-pool for stability.
