What: Junior Solar Sprint (JSS) Teachers' Professional Workshop
Where: Waquoit Bay Research Reserve in East Falmouth
Date: Wednesday December 13th, 2006
Time: 4-8pm

Details: The JSS is an annual competition in which teams of middle school students (grades 6-8) design, build, and race model cars powered by solar energy. The goal of the workshop is to help you introduce the concepts surrounding solar energy into your middle school science curricula or after school programs and assist you in participating in the Junior Solar Sprint. Attend this workshop to learn more about the JSS and how you and your students can participate. For a small $10 registration fee, the workshop will give you the opportunity to build a model sprint car, and provide you with sample curricula and educational materials that you can use to start the spring off full of energizing projects for your students. For an additional $40, you get to take home the car that you built (the solar panel and motor can be re-used for experiments and building additional cars for the competition). A light dinner will also be provided at the workshop. Registration is due by Thursday, November 30. Visit our website for more information:
