If you are a K-8 teacher interested in making science more engaging for your students, we offer you a choice of two immersive workshops, one with a focus on Global Energy Distribution and the other with a focus on Green Energy. Both courses will provide a model for participants of how to use inquiry-based methods for instruction; help participants develop a deeper understanding of the nature of science; and build participants' confidence in their ability to teach science.
Both Courses Offer You:
The opportunity to explore these topics in an open and hands on manner; Four free graduate credits from the Boston University School of Education; A stipend of $1000 (paid in installments upon completion of program requirements).
Courses Requirements include attendance at:
*Six Pre-Immersion Classes in May/June;
*Classes 9:00-4:00 M-F July 6-17, 2009;
*Four callback sessions (two in fall and two in spring).
For questions or more information about the two Summer Courses, please contact Cynthia Brossman by calling 617-353-7021 or emailing cab@bu.edu or Claire Duggan at c.duggan@neu.edu.
The Inquiring Minds Immersion Courses are funded by the Board of Higher Education's STEM Pipeline Fund, a grant from The Stephen Bechtel Fund, and financial support from Schlumberger.
Boston University, Northeastern University and Wheelock College will deliver the courses and callback sessions.
