Today's energy crisis shows that energy education should be woven into every aspect of life.
Are your teachers and students ready to become Energy Smart?
Teachers who attend the New York Energy Smart Students workshops:
*Learn strategies to increase students' understanding of the relationships between the environment, our economy, and energy efficiency.
*Experience hands-on activities that explore energy forms, sources,
and actions we can take to address energy challenges.
*Receive interactive, interdisciplinary curriculum and classroom
materials correlated to the New York State learning standards in math, science, technology, global studies, language arts, and family
and consumer science.
*Compete for $500 Energy Education grants and other student and teacher competitions.
*Connect to up-to-date energy information and lesson plans through
newsletters and online resources.
Energy Smart Students workshops are absolutely FREE.
All K-12 teachers in public and private schools, pre-service teachers, and other education professionals in New York are welcome.
