Solar and Wind in the Classroom Teacher Training Workshops
Give your students the tools they need to understand solar and wind energy technologies. Teachers and non-formal educators may participate in either or both of these free workshops:
• A Solar Kit for the Classroom; appropriate for grades 3-10; or
• Wind Wisdom for School Power…Naturally, appropriate for grades K-6.
At the workshop educators will receive:
• engaging, hands-on science and engineering activities that support New York State Learning Standards and Core Curriculum, addressing specific performance indicators; and
• a free energy education kit and support materials for your classroom, center, or institution.

A Solar Kit for the Classroom Join NESEA staff on Wednesday, November 17 from 4:30 - 7:30pm at the Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve in Depew, NY and become familiar with solar energy concepts. Test out the experiments and give your students the tools they need to understand solar technologies. Wind Wisdom for School Power Naturally, Join NESEA staff on Thursday, November 18, 8:30-11:30am at the BOCES Erie2 Center in Fredonia, NY. Gain a hands-on introduction to the technology and engineering involved in renewable wind energy and the scientific principles related to properties of the wind, energy transformations and electricity.
