Sustainable energy summer programs for MI high schoolers

The Sustainable Energy Pre-College Summer Program will provide hands-on educational experiences including exhibits, laboratory, and classroom activities for pre-college students, preparing them for advanced 21st century energy technologies, as well as a fun field trip. Apply Now!!

Session 1: June 13-17, 2011
9th and 10th Graders
(Must have completed 8th grade by June)

Session 2: June 20-24, 2011
11th and 12th Graders
(Must have completed 10th grade by June)


Students will have fun exploring:
How biogas is produced and utilized.
How nuclear power is produced.
How fuel cells work.
How fuel cells can be used to power homes, cars and buses.
How to build a fuel cell car and wind turbine from a kit.
How solar, hydro and wind power can be used.

Admission Requirements:

Application
One-page Essay
Two letters of Recommendation (Must be from a math or science teacher)
Must have daily transportation to and from Kettering University
Program fee: $150.00
Deadline to Apply: May 2, 2011
