Concept of Energy Workshop for MS Teachers March 28 and April 4

A Massachusetts Association of Science Teachers Professional Development Opportunity for Middle School Teachers
What:
Two, 2 hour afternoon sessions devoted to the concept of energy.
Meeting #1 will be investigating work, gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy.
Meeting #2 we will investigate heat energy- heat transfer and phase change.
In these sessions, teachers will be introduced to a variety of lab activities and demonstrations to help students grasp the very difficult concept of energy. Teachers will be expected to help create a comprehensive lesson plan to bring back to their classes. They will implement what has been discussed into their classes and then regroup in a sharing session at the MAST conference November 2nd, 2006. Teachers who attend both sessions, complete the lesson plan implementation and attend the call-back in Nov. will be eligible for 10 Content PDP's
