Monitoring solar power plants at field trip sites

Post by shawn »

Before and after visiting a field trip site, or even just for a virtual field trip, students can see how photovoltaic systems at the site are producing electricity. For some sites, users can see animations of the production of each module each 15 minutes, so they can watch shadows proceed over the modules.

There are many different companies that make and/or host the monitoring and visualization software, and hundreds of thousands of sites that make their data available to the public.
