Field Trip Guide
Thank you for helping us expand our field trip guide. Before adding a new site, please check to make sure we don't already list it, by checking on our main page: Field Trip Guide (opens in a new window)
We welcome entries on sites anywhere in the world, as long as there's something notable to learn there about energy production or use. Sites include power plants, efficient home tours, nature centers, businesses, municipal facilities, and more.
The best sites combine ideas from across the curriculum. For example, Saugus Iron Works in Massachusetts is a national park with interesting history as well as information about an age-old biofuels rush to feed the furnaces there. Student visitors learn about energy, history, nature, and civic pride.
Great entries include all the useful information for educators planning a visit, like whom to call, where it is, who is allowed to visit, and what's nearby like food, recreation, and opportunities for learning other topics. Entries in any official language used at the site are welcome.
