NYS GIS workshops feature solar and wind energy resources

Educator Workshop
Optional additional workshop, onsite only, Using GIS, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm.
We invite formal and non-formal educators in New York State to join us in exploring lessons developed to explore solar and wind energy concepts using an online GIS tool. No previous experience with GIS is needed. During this 3 hour workshop we will demonstrate the solar, wind and energy overview lessons the two supporting GIS mapping tools that accompany the lessons. These lessons are designed for teachers in grades 7-10 to students understand the feasibility of wind and photovoltaics in New York.
Join us on the campus of Cayuga Community College in Auburn, NY or for our online webinar. Registration is FREE, but you must register. Registration is limited to 30 participant's onsite and 100 online.
Onsite participants have the opportunity to attend an additional workshop from 1:00pm - 3:00pm to learn more about GIS and how it can be used in the classroom. There will be a 1 hour break between workshops for you to grab lunch on your own.
