to Pincher Creek
July 6-11
What should my students know about energy in Alberta?
What is the future of Alberta’s energy development?
What resources exist to help me educate my students on energy related topics?
Focusing on Alberta’s energy sources and the environmental impacts of their development, this education tour will provide you with an opportunity to:
Get a first hand look at the primary energy sources powering Alberta including an investigation of the oil sands, coal, coal-bed methane and alternative and renewable sources (wind, solar, hydro and bio-energy) through tours and presentations from experts in these fields.
Examine opportunities to reduce the environmental footprint of energy development and change energy consumption behavior among industry and consumers (includes a discussion of our Provincial Energy Strategy).
Talk to a variety of individuals, groups and organizations whose initiatives have an impact on the management of Alberta’s energy sources.
